For Christy Kimbrough, the Lake Oconee Area Builders Association is about more than blueprints and construction sites. This organization is the heart of the community. As the Charitable Contributions Chairman, Christy turns professional networking into a powerful engine for local philanthropy.

The most impactful moments of her tenure occur when the association’s efforts directly address a need. She notes that seeing the emotional response from local families during the holiday season is the most rewarding part of her role: "I have seen mothers moved to tears because of what our members have done for their families," Christy shared. "I love being a small part of that holiday magic."

This year marked a historic milestone! Christy set an ambitious goal of raising $15,000, but the overwhelming generosity of the LOABA membership exceeded that target. Under her leadership, the organization raised over $23,000 to support children, animal shelters, the elderly and Habitat for Humanity throughout the year.

Christy believes that the charitable arm of LOABA is vital to the association’s identity. It provides members with a meaningful way to give back to the specific areas where they live and work.

"We are not just about building homes," Christy explains. "We are also about building our community."

Through her dedicated service, she ensures that LOABA is recognized not only for its craftsmanship but also for its compassion.
