After chairing the Lake Oconee Area Builder Association’s Big Event for the first time in 2024, we are thrilled to welcome Bo Echols back as chairman for the 2025 event and to shine a spotlight on his passion for community and unwavering dedication, leaving a lasting impact on the annual tradition.


Echols's deep-rooted connection to Lake Oconee is evident in his tireless efforts to create a meaningful and impactful celebration. He believes that The Big Event is more than just a gathering; it's an opportunity to unite people, support local businesses and celebrate the vibrant spirit of Lake Oconee.

"The Big Event is about fostering a sense of belonging and connection," he explained. "It's a chance for residents to come together, explore new businesses and enjoy a day of fun and entertainment."

Behind the scenes, Echols faces many challenges and works hard to ensure The Big Event's success. From securing vendors and coordinating logistics to managing the unexpected, his ability to navigate obstacles with resilience and determination is remarkable.

One of Echols's most significant challenges this year was finding a reliable staffing agency to support the annual occasion. Through perseverance, he identified a partner that provided exceptional service and contributed to the event's overall success.

His unwavering commitment to providing an exceptional attendee experience is evident in every detail of The Big Event. Working with Wendy Daniel, the LOABA Executive Officer, they curate a diverse range of activities, vendors and entertainment to cater to the interests of all ages.
